Not sure what brought it on but I'm definitely hypomanic right now. I haven't been since sometime before oct. At least. Since I am unmedicated and have no team I need coping mechanisms to deal with this. I've been zoom zoom since 6 am. It's nice. But I don't know how long it will last and I'm not looking forward to the crash after. But mainly I don't want it to go into mania. I just flipped on my minute phone because it wouldn't end my call and threw it at the ground. While in a crowded waiting room at my sons therapist. Please someone. Anyone. Help me. Sorry for the rambling. I'm just lost.

I feel you. Can you get some sleep, somehow? Anyone to call? Maybe go run and wear yourself out, but sleeping is vital. I hope you get a handle.

Don't mean to sound judgmental (but perhaps I am a bit because your post is a trigger for me). Why are you not medicated? Did you choose to go off your meds independently? Or have you never been officially diagnosed?
In my judgmental opinion, if one chooses to go off meds, one should be prepared to experience the disease full force. It would be wise to learn coping mechanisms and have a plan of action before going off meds. That said, and I apologize for being so judgemental, this is a huge trigger for me, you may consider going to urgent care, the ER, or call your GP, they may be able to give you some medicine to reduce/calm the effects of your hypo mania. Good luck.

Sounds to me like you could benefit from being medicated. Since yr untreated, of course yr going to feel the pain of cycling through the ups and downs of bp. Do you have a good pdoc? I would encourage you to get into see one asap. I too have a song with aspergers and man is that hard to deal with even for parents who don't have mental illness. To be blunt I will say that yr answer is meds. Please get some help. You may need to be hospitalized to get stable. Take care. Yr family needs you to get better. It's hard to be a parent but throwing mi into the mix makes it that much harder.

As I said I'm unmedicated and have no team so those are not an option for me. And NO it is NOT by choice. I have had no insurance since October. After 28 years they cut me off. I have been trying to get insurance since then but my options are very limited. I just make my bills. I have no extra money for insurance or anything. I have no gp anymore. And a hospital, after hours, etc are not an option as I said above I'm broke. Even if I had the money to pay for a stay I wouldn't have the money to keep up the meds. But I guess when someone asks for help( specifically coping mechanisms) all I'll ever have is meds shoved down my throat. If I had insurance yes I'd be taking meds even though I hate them because this is the reaction from everyone. God forbid anyone handle it with coping steps. Ironically I've been more stable off the meds for 5 months than ever before but whatever. I'm done.

Again, apologies for being so judgemental. I should have asked you this question instead. What symptoms are you experiencing in your hypo manic state? Perhaps if we know the specifics we can help you or point you in the right direction.

Ok so you'd like help with coping skills. That makes perfect sense. Sorry to bring up meds but usually they help with bp. You are really in a hard place of not having insurance. I wasn't aware of that cause you hadn't mentioned it in yr original post. I'm so sorry yr struggling. Try and google some coping techniques for bp in hypo state. Specifically look for sites that will give you support and ideas on coping while not medicated. Like I said you do need done help but please go to the hospital if you feel like hurting yr self. There are free or reduced medical clinics through counties in yr city...not sure where you live. So you could get meditated while in the hospital and they could help get you set up for meds at low or no cost clinic where you can continue to get meds outside the hospital. Then, you can get most yr hospital bill paid by the financial hardship program hospitals usually have those. Again I'm not sure where you live. These are some ideas. You can also google dbt skills and there are excellent coping skills inn that type of therapy. I wish there was more we could do for you.

Keep your sleep schedule even if it means laying in bed with racing thoughts. Try melitonin to help sleep.
Get prepared for your crash: freeze meals, pay ahead bills, put gas in the car, set up automatic bill pay, set cloths out. Does your son and daughter go to an after school program? Does your husband know your hypomanic?

First off...take a deep breath. Try to start relaxing. Meditation night help, it may relieve any insomnia you're having. See if your hospital offers any prescription assistance (meds are low cost or free). Talk to a doc to see what meds are on the 4$ list at certain pharmacy's. A hospital cannot turn you away because you can't pay.

Exercise helps, even just dancing around to music. Finding something to do with your hands like a craft or cooking also helps.
Maybe try some meditations? There are guided meditations on YouTube and sometimes thy help me sleep and definitely help anxiety. And I agree with MM - prepare for the crash. As a last resort I have taken Benadryl during the day to calm me down but only when I was severely manic and at risk of hurting myself if I didn't.
