for me, staying in bed allows me to be calm and escape as best I can from turmoil. It's my coping mechanism. I withdraw from the situation. Depression also can make me feel too bad and too tired to face anything, so the bed is welcoming.
I just noticed that you take trazadone - when I took that I rarely felt like I'd overslept and I'd sleep for at least 12 hrs. a night.
