My insurance doesn't allow billing without face to face contact either; however, when I started with my therapist, I signed a paper saying that if I missed a session, I would be responsible for the entire cost of the missed session if I no showed.

That said, if I didn't show up on a normal day, my therapist would call. If I had been in crisis the last time we met, he would call the police to check up on me.
