For an apartment to do this is indeed an invasion of privacy. On the other hand, Employers feel that if you are at work, where they pay you to work, it is their right to know what their employees are doing on the clock. What I am saying is if you are getting paid to make widgets, you should not be spending time on facebook, or even PC.
As far as the apartment goes, they don't pay you, you pay them. And mom was right, especially if you are talking about the internet, if you don't want anyone to see it, don't write it down.
