It took me 4 years of periods of horrible anxiety and paranoia to get my p-doc to prescribe klonopin. They have a very anti benzo policy and he tried everything but a benzo first and they were all useless. There are very real dangers with benzos and it was a hard decision for me to make. I decided I needed it as the anxiety and paranoia were putting me a great risk for suicide. Depression I can deal with but not that. Klonopin has worked like a miracle. I take it exactly as prescribed. I am a recovering addict so even more risk but I have not had any desire to abuse it. I am more worried about long term use and withdrawal. Two years is getting to be too long and I should be taking it only PNR.
