If whatever is going on is bad enough you feel there might be a problem then that is enough to find out.
Start with your regular family physician. Talk to them honestly about what is happening and your concerns. Most will recognize the basic signs of mental illness. Some may choose to treat Depression or Anxiety themselves. If they feel the problem is bigger than that - or if you request - they will get the whole ball rolling and refer you to a psychiatrist.
Now some may disagree but I say that, if you can, opt initially for a psychiatrist before entering therapy. Just my two cents here. But a psychiatrist can prescribe you medication where a psychologist or counselor cannot.
On thing I wish to reach out and discourage you from doing is to search 'doctor google' and attempt to self-diagnose. Believe me, you can diagnose yourself with virtually anything and - believe me from my own experience - cause yourself a lot of unneccessary worry.
