I don't think I would call it civil to tempt someone who is trying to quit. The thing is, even if you aren't being preachy, you are threatening just because it's a reminder that what they are doing has consequences that are best avoided. Deep down, every meth user knows this can't go on indefinitely. Once you admit that, doing it anymore seems like a really bad choice.
