It’s admirable that you are so honest and obedient.

When all the girls were shaving their legs and wearing high heels in 6th grade, my mom said ‘no way’. So i got a razor and shaved my legs. Then I wore knee socks in front of my mother to hide my shaved legs. No way was I going to school with hairy legs!

I learned really early on that my mother could be unreasonable and her rules were stupid, so I let her think I obeyed, then I did as I wanted.

You are a really good kid.

If you choose to obey your parents and wear the coats, just tell the kids who poke fun at you that you think it’s stupid too, but it makes your nervous parents happy. Nice kids will understand and stop making fun of you. Nasty kids who continue are just jerks.
