Hi friends. Some background on my story - I am eighteen years old and a senior at a private high school in New York. I was raped 2 years ago and I experience some symptoms of PTSD. I also suffer from depression and ADHD and occasional panic attacks. I used to self-medicate with marijuana but I rarely use it, however, I have a medical marijuana card from the Department of Health that I obtained legally and was approved for by a doctor. I got the card after I turned 18, however, my family did not know I had it because they do not support the use of marijuana. I have never even used the card because medical marijuana is so expensive in New York and I don't it to conflict with my performance in school, however, I was planning on getting a consultation in the future, maybe in the summer.
Yesterday, I was cleaning out my wallet at the end of class and a classmate was standing up next to my desk. He looked at the card and asked if it was fake. I showed him and said, no, it's real. Thought there was't any harm there. At the end of class however the teacher made me stay after class and she said, "Show me those IDs and we're going to the dean." I handed her all my IDs including my med card and told her it was legal. She looked at them and let me leave. I thought I was home free. After all, I hadn't done anything wrong. I came home to being hit and screamed at by my parents because the dean and the school nurse had called them saying I had been "showing off a medical marijuana card." So now I have no idea what to do. I didn't commit any crime. I'm a legal adult. I don't even use weed atm, they can drug test me if they want. The school doesn't know anything about my mental health issues or the other meds I take. I want to confront the dean for calling my parents without my permission but I don't want to get in even more trouble than I seem to already be in. Does anybody have any guidance I would greatly appreciate it
