Something I just remembered...when I was young it was easier because there wasn't food every ten feet!
In my town we had one fast food place and it was for going to after dances and dates. No one went there during the day. This was before fast food became a part of life.
In contrast, in my immediate neighborhood we have six fast food places, three restaurants, three coffee houses, a liquor store and a 24-hour supermarket! I am not even counting in the bars and breweries of which there are many. And this is in a semi-rural neighborhood!
I don't remember grocery stores stocked with junk. I don't remember whole aisles with just ice cream! It's absurd.
I don't remember banks giving out cookies and popcorn.
Talking to a dietician helped.
But also one just has to close eyes to temptation.
Two meals instead of three is a good idea.
