When we're depressed, it's hard to be upbeat--that's one of the symptoms (though I think some of us express our depression through irritability verses sadness). I don't expect most of the posts in the depression forum to be upbeat. When people are feeling sad--I think they relate better to the sad posts than the upbeat ones. For instance, I find it hard to read some of my friends FB posts because their lives seem to have turned out perfectly. Though I do know that everyone has "downbeat" days. We all have many sides and my prayer is that everyone at PC has things going on in their lives that give them joy. Some of us did get depressed because of major challenges and past traumas. I hope the New Year brings us many of the things we dream of and that we have the strength to pursue our dreams (even if we fail--the process is what matters).
That you can project a funny, lighthearted side is really a good thing Remmi. I think it is healthy to acknowledge and feel our negative emotions then try to move on--even if that means pretending, distracting and using all kinds of drugs (I think of my psychiatrist as a legal drug dealer

).
