I wonder if these issues are related to the specific kind of web browser you are using? And if so, could you please let me know what that is, as well as your operating system (Windows 10, Mac, etc.)?

I use chrome, explorer, safari, foxfire and edge. it happens from time to time on all of them. it doesn't make a difference, I am on windows 10. its only been happening since the latest few windows 10 updating my computer has done.
not sure if this is related but not too long ago I got a notice that adobe products will soon be phased out and no longer updated because of hackers and bots were accessing something in the adobe products (Java script, flash player and others) to hack into other peoples computers.
that's right around the same time that this captcha problem started with me so I assumed it was related and part of windows 10 new updates.
