It was a novel, and I can't remember the title. It was about a factory worker who lived with her sh**ty sister, mother and her brilliantly adorable 4 year old niece. It took place in small town Ontario in the 70s, the protaganist had the misfortune of falling hard for a messed up stunt man. Anyway, I really enjoyed it.
