Welcome to PC. That does sound pretty scary. Has this always been going on or is this something new? Has your stress increased? When my stress level is higher, I am further away from myself looking down.

I used to think the same, that it really wasn't dissociation but some disease that was causing all of this. For me, it was denial after I found out that I had a dissociation disorder. I didn't think it could possibly be what it was.

Do you have a therapist that you could talk to about this? I understand the fears and I would say definitely go to a medical doctor and get a physical to rule out any medical reason for this. If everything comes back okay on that scale, perhaps seeing a therapist would help. There are a lot of things that could cause this type of thing so try not to jump into the thought process of Alzheimer's. I know that's hard to do but keep doing self talk.
