I use to ask myself which came first my addictions or the MI. I think the mental illness came first and I tried to cover it up with drugs and alcohol. But now I have come to the point it really does not matter which came first. I have both now and I have to fight both of them in a different way. I can not just work on one. If I do then the other will overtake me. I have to work on both things at once, both in a different way. This has helped me though at seeing myself the way I really am and being able to accept the problems I have. I guess that is why they call it double Trouble. You have 2 things that can be deadly to you at once.
