I suppose this could trigger a relapse....

Some people say that pot's not addictive, but it totally was for me. Maybe it's because my parents were potheads and my mom smoked while she was pregnant and nursing me? I don't know.....
I started smoking weed in 2001 and I gradually started smoking everyday, to a couple times a day. To the point that I would break down crying if I didn't have any. I started quitting in March 2005, because it was making me too anxious and paranoid. I started smoking less and less and I would quit for days, to weeks, to months. I finally officially quit in March 2009. I'm so glad. I don't think I could ever smoke it again. I have some friends that still do smoke (most of them I only talk to online or on the phone, since I'm stranded in the middle of no where). Some people have smoked around me since and most of the time I still like the smell of it. But I don't want to do it. But sometimes, I can't stand it. But either way I quit and I feel really good about it.

You should be very proud of yourself. You were raised in an environment that promoted the pot and to give it up is a great accomplishment. Take care of yourself and remember what a great thing you've done.

*high five!*
There are SO many people out there who think pot is okay, there is nothing wrong with it, it was the cotton industry who sought to make it illegal, it helps with my back problems, blah blah blah.
As I think you are already aware of what I was exposed to (although I've never touched it myself), I can't stand the stuff. It is a trigger for me, and I've seen what it can do. It's not just just the drug and it's effects, but the people/children who have to be exposed to situations because of it.
It's good that YOU know it's not okay for you, despite what others might say about it not being a bad thing.
Thanks for this!

Congrats on staying clean! I haven't smoked weed since last February, but there is not a day that goes by that I do not want to smoke. You are right, weed is very addictive, but it also depends on the person.

Keep up your sobriety and you should feel good about yourself.

Maybe I only don't want to smoke anymore, because it was making me very paranoid and anxious. Maybe it didn't have that effect on you? Well, you should feel even better about yourself, because you still have the temptation, but you are fighting it everyday. Good for you! I wish you good luck!
