"Relapse"

Ten months clean,
Living joyous and free.
Relapse happened,
Why'd it have to happen to me?
I was doing so good,
Learning new things everyday.
Now I have to start all over,
Now I have the price to pay.
Starting back at day one,
Feeling hopeless and bound.
Maybe just for today,
I can stay clean this time around.
Just goes to show,
Relapse can happen to you.
I thought my life was getting better,
Thought my life had started anew.
Relapse is possible,
But it doesn't have to be you.
Gotta change your friends and surroundings,
This much I know is true.
Take it from a two time relapser,
Relapse isn't a fun place to be.
Living clean and sober just today,
Is the only way to live free.
