The temptations will always be there just waiting on you. Just remember what you have learned and how far you have come to not want to go back there again. I get those temptations still and all I can do is remember what it was like and that I do not want to go back there.

Thanks for the reminders people, we got through the night

"with a little help from our friends" on the site.

Couldn't agree more about never wanting to go back.

Been clean over 20 years.

My sponsor tells me all the time that guys like the one you had on your couch on the nod are his best sponsors. We are all teachers all the time. Some of us only have one lesson to teach, and that lesson is what not to be.

I agree, that having a drunk with a bag on in my home wouldn’t be much fun, but capitalize on it. As soon as I have extracted the maximum spiritual benefit from a given situation, that situation will resolve itself, all by itself.

And it’s good that you came here talked about it,

I just couldn't believe that I was so badly triggered after so long, specially as I have worked in the rehab field for many years,

*********POSSIBLE TRIGGER********
He reminded me vividly of a guy who raped me & killed my baby, I just couldn't cope.
*********END TRIGGER********

Bad trigger for me Thanks everyone, it wasn't fun & it's taken me days to recover, but I did learn something. I have only got the energy to look after my own shizophrenic son, my dying husband, & myself.
No time or energy for other ppl with probs atm. Bad trigger for me
Even if it has been what I've done most of my life. Bad trigger for me
