My boyfriend and my best friend use drugs recreationally. They only use on occasion and they don't let it interfere with their life. This is not a problem with them, they just enjoy it every once in a while.
I know that this isn't an issue, yet I always feel slightly sad and disappointed when they do use. I don't understand why when its so clearly not an out of control problem. |

Do they use the drugs together? can you describe your relationship with each?

Whatever it is, I think you know it can lead to an "out of control" problem, in several areas. Wish u luck.

I almost just feel left out of their fun, but I also have no desire to become intoxicated in any way. |

Recreational use almost ALWAYS leads to out of control use. Just ask any junkie at an NA meeting or on the streets. They will tell you that they started out just like your friends. Your boyfriend and friend are treading on very dangerous ground. PLEASE do NOT join in with them - I can't stress it enough. It just is not worth it.
Would it be worth your health? Your job? Your family? Your reputation? Your freedom? Those are all the things that you'll lose once you start using. It would only be a matter of time. You'll get picked up by the police - how embarrassing would that be? You'll NEVER get that off your record. Your family would never trust you again. Your friends will dump you. You can't keep your friends from using - but YOU don't have to do it. Please stay away from it. It's just not worth it. God bless. Hugs, Lee |
