Hi everyone. Today is my 6 month sober mark. I can't tell you all how releived I am that I was able to get back into recovery after my last relapse. I've really thrown myself into AA this time, and am finally letting some spirituality into my life. I'm still a little uncomfortable with the concept of prayer, but I'm doing it, even though I still don't quite know who I'm praying to and it still really helps.

I'm still going to my treatment group at Branson, and got the flex time I needed to take Tues mornings off to attend it, with no problem at all from my new department.

I'm still taking the disulfiram and naltrexone which I find helpful.

It's funny, but I feel better than I have in literally years, even though I still have problems with pretty severe cravings.

Thanks for all your support.

GOOD FOR YOU!!! That's wonderful! That's quite an accomplishment and i hope you're proud! I remember when I hit 6 months - i didn't even know I could hit 6 days, let alone 6 months!! I'd been a HEAVY drinker for over 20 years so 6 months was really a surprise to me! LOL

i wasn't at all sure about the spiritual thing either - but I "faked it til I made it." I prayed and prayed - not knowing if anyone heard me - until I became so miserable that I got down on my knees bawling and begging for something to help me - and all of a sudden I felt like the whole world had lightened up - and I got this overwhelming feeling of peace, along with a weird warmth that came over my body!!! This stayed like this for about 5 minutes - and then went away. I'd had a spiritual experience!!! WOW!!! That blew my mind! I didn't wonder any more if there was a power greater than me -- I had just FELT it!

This happened one other time - and I'm so grateful. God is alive and He's working thru AA. God bless and again congratulations. Hugs, Lee

Hi Splitimage
Just wondering...does it work with the antabuse and calling the nurse? Since you've posted so postitively, I guess so... I just wanted to let you know I admire your work and you are taking steps forward. Congrats!
