Is it bad if when I'm feeling bad (bored, tired, sad, etc.) and I drink an energy drink or caffeinated drink such as soda, I feel better?

Well, I can tell you that I have an "addiction" to caffeine and I find that quite normal. I drink coffee in the morning to wake-up and feel alert. It's okay if you have a little pick me up.

Caffeine is a good way to wake us up. People associate being tired and worn out with depression, the same way people associate being awake and alert with happiness. It's normal.
I drink a ton of caffeine and have quit cold turkey more than once, but always go back to it. I just feel a lot better when I drink caffeine throughout the day. I'll tell you though, it's best not to drink energy drinks. They can be very detrimental to your health. It's bad on your heart. I would suggest drinking a coke or a coffee instead. Other than that, I think you're fine. Caffeine isn't always necessarily good for us when we drink too much (though a couple a day is actually beneficial to us) but as long as you don't have a complete want and need for it at all times of the day you should be fine. |
