Ditto from me.

To all you out there reading, and you know who you are, imagine yourself clean and happy for 9 months.

If Rayna can do this thing, imagine yourself doing it as well. Chop up that nine months into more digestible chunks. Maybe one day at a time,

And remember, Ray didn’t do it alone. We almost never meet with success in getting clean and sober playing secret agents. That is one of the most common mistakes a new person makes, thinking that they can do this thing solo.

Congrats Ray, I couldn’t be happier for you. You carry one strong and clear message of recovery.

Richard

Thanks all! And Richard is absolutely right. There is no way I can even begin to name all the people who have and are helping me through my journey. I have a huge network of sober friends who work a good program, and great sponser with a lot of time, people here, but most importantly, my Higher Power. Without all these relationships, my unity with the fellowship, and all the service work I do, I might be sober for 9 months, but I wouldn't have been as happy as I am. When I found these forums, it was because I was depressed and I couldn't figure out why. I didn't have the diagnosis the people here had. I didn't have a therapist because they had never worked. I didn't take meds because they didn't work. People here all had something to put their finger on their depression, but I didn't. I'd come here and browse and drink, and chat and drink, justifying my drinking alone by chatting in the room. But I still didn't relate, and I couldn't figure it out. When I quit drinking and working a program, and having a concious contact with my Higher Power, the depression vanished. The feelings of shame vanished. I'm so greatful I found this community in the depths of my alcoholic depression because it put me on a road. At least people here understood what it meant to be sad all the time. And now I can share my experience strength and hope in this forum so I can keep what I've been so generously given. I'll keep coming back. Thank you all for being an important part of my sobriety. =)

Rayna
