i personally wouldn't if it doesn't affect your work any, and if you don't need any specific time off work for meetings etc, i'd class it as a personal matter.

Just wondering: why are you asking?

IMHO, unless there is a pressing reason for you why you feel you should share personal, private, medical information with your employer, I would keep it to myself.

Especially in this economic climate.

In addition, under Federal law, you are not required to share any medical information with anyone. ever. even your own family members.

Is everything OK?

My answer is no. I believe that is personal unless for some reason it affects your performance at work.

If you are concerned about yourself, then you can be sure others will be / are concerned about you as well.

Have you considered taking a medical leave? I don't know the policies of your place of employment; however, your health and well-being (as well as the health and well-being of others) comes first.

It is a positive that you are aware of your situation. You have the power to continue with positive results.

If you cannot afford to take a medical leave, can you afford a major lawsuit should something 'unfortunate' happen while you are on your way to, or at work? Can you afford to lose your job? Can you afford to spend time in prison?

You are being responsible by reaching out and admitting you are struggling, concerned and are not well. You are being responsible for acknowledging what is going on.

what do you hope to gain by sharing this information with your boss?

(*your boss is not your parent or your friend. As you are responsible to your boss. Your boss is resposible to protect the company. Risk Management is a major part of any company. You have a legitimate illness that you feel may pose a risk to others. Medical attention would be the best course of action, in my opinion.)

Whatever you choose to do, I wish you the very best. I hope you will continue to take good care of you.

The most important thing is to speak with your T and P and work on the urges. Stay safe and keep others safe. Continue to be responsible.

Take care.
