Here you go, Patricia...
'God, grant me the serenity
To accept the things I cannot change
The courage to change the things I can
And the wisdom to know the difference'
Hope this helps....

You're welcome, Patricia! I went to several AA meetings myself, and we always said this prayer I think before and after the meetings. I'm proud of you for keeping up with those meetings and looking after yourself! bizzar question...

What do you think of this one?

I asked God for strength, that I might achieve,
I was made weak, that I might learn humbly to obey.
I asked God for health, that I might do greater things,
I was given infirmity, that I might do better things.
I asked for riches, that I might be happy,
I was given poverty, that I might be wise.
I asked for power, that I might have the praise of men,
I was given weakness, that I might feel the need of God.
I asked for all things, that I might enjoy life,
I was given life, that I might enjoy all things.
I got nothing that I asked for but everything I had hoped for.
Almost despite myself, my unspoken prayers were answered.
I am among men, most richly blessed.

Thaught you might be interested in the full version of the serenity prayer.
God, grant me the serenity to accept the things I cannot change, the courage to change the things I can, and the wisdom to know the difference.
Living one day at a time, enjoying one moment at a time; accepting hardship as a pathway to peace; taking, as Jesus did, this sinful world as it is, not as I would have it; trusting that You will make all things right if I surrender to Your will; so that I may be reasonably happy in this life and supremely happy with You forever in the next,
Amen.
