dont beat yourself up to bad. sometimes I used to use it for an escape, the only problem was I felt worse after. When you are ready to stop you will. Good luck and as always ONE DAY AT A TIME.

I know why you took that damn drink.

Birds fly, fish swim and drunks drink. This business of alcoholism ain’t rocket science. Sugar, we drink to appease an obsession we can not control. We can’t bargain with it, we can’t make any deal with it that doesn’t include copping a buzz. We can’t walk away from it and make it stick. We can’t moderate it, and we can’t control how much we drink or when. It calls to us all the time. We are slaves to it. And it will never willingly let us go. Never!

Self will, as valuable as that is, isn’t going to beat this thing. Drunks with more self will than I will ever hope to have are dying as we speak with the words “I quit” still on their lips.

It seems we suffer from a disease that can only be defeated by a spiritual experience.

On the road to the good stuff,
Richard

A spiritual experience....
I think I am in trouble....
I am so angry with "god" that everything relious automatically makes me feel rebellious.
They have told me that spirituality and religion don't have to go together.... I have yet to experience anything close to spiritual.
I appreciate the blunt and honest reply,
and ster, I appreciate your advice as well... I know I am very hard on myself most of the time....guess I need to figure out which times are appropriate and which aren't.

When I first went into AA ,god was not a choice I had to use the group as a god.. Just choose what you want to be your higher power just dont choose alcohol not a good god.
