so I have this thing with my tummy. My T calls it an addiction but I view it as more of an obsession. You see, I can't keep my hands and mind off my tummy. Almost literally. I talk about and think about my tummy all the time. I love rubbing my tummy cuz it feels good. In t I always wanna talk about my tummy. In 540 pages of journaling, most of it is about my tummy. what is this? why do I do this? I don't wanna be obsessed with/addicted to my tummy but I don't wanna stop touching my tummy either. I need help.

well this aint the weirdest thing I ever heard and with us humans anything can be real yep. whats wrong with likeing your tummy?....thats what I want to know....where did you get the idea that there was somethin' wrong with it? we could easily call this world..."planet fetish" but that makes it sound all weirdo and thats not fair. the 'abdomen' is the epicentre of human development at it's most fragile and at it's most fragile human life needs comfort yes? look I might be way off I don't know you and thats ok I just run with it and why not run with it yourself? is it making your life impossible to manage is the question ...thats the real question? somehow you been made to feel bad about it and don't get me started as to how that can happen no way!! you aint weird....enjoy your tummy.... if you end up on your knees in the corner totally destabilised by this thing that you do and it's purely just your own opinion of it...then go look for someones professional trust yep. look...I sit and watch tele and rub my tummy I tap it I like it there is something homely and maternal about tummies watch pets if you got one they seem to want to spread out all pet like on our tummies and especially like to be rubbed there |

I would call it a bad habit, which is behavioral so more of an addiction to me. Obsession is all/mostly in your head and thinking. Yours started when you were very little and you do it because it feels good. I had a symptom like that from when I was 2-3 and it took until I was 52-3 before I worked through it.
I would accept that you have this symptom for the moment and look for "cause"; I don't think you can make it go away all by itself. Sounds like you got stuck in comforting when you were little, refused to deal with the other stuff in life.
