Im taking Lunesta, which is supposedly non addictive, and non habit-forming.
yet i CRAVE it

I have been dependent on pain pills before but never actually craved the high.

however with Lunesta, I cant wait to take it, to enjoy the metallic taste, and enjoy the feeling.
thinking about it, i can taste it and I just wanna take it right now SO bad even though its not time for bed yet,

Am I addicted?
and is that a bad thing?

Dependence
In the United States Eszopiclone is a schedule IV controlled substance under the Controlled Substances Act. Use of benzodiazepines and similar benzodiazepine-like drugs such as eszopiclone may lead to physical and psychological dependence. The risk of abuse and dependence increases with the dose and duration of usage and concomitant use of other psychoactive drugs.

many drugs do have a psychological addiction element in them as well. this could even be nyquil.
you pose a good question. talking with your doc may help.

I honestly didnt know that about Lunesta.
and apparently neither does my doctor.
I told him about my cravings... he thinks its all in my head.
He even suggested taking it during the day for anxiety.
But I wont do that, because when I am on Lunesta, I remember NOTHING the next day.
My whole life will go unrecorded. I will have no memory of each day.
Some kind of hell that would be.

insideout, if it were me i'd re-discuss your concerns to your doc. it doesn't sound like to me he's taking your comments seriously enough. you do have a genuine realistic concern. and your previous addiction to pain pills should cause him to responsibly listen. it's not "all in your head" as my previous posts stated otherwise.
