i'm currently in bed with a bladder infection and mild pneumonia. when i say mild i mean it's not bad enough for oxygen YET, which is just as well as i loathe being slapped on oxygen with a vengeance. my breathing is more labored than this afternoon but i'm coping so far.

trouble is i have a long history of pneumonia, pulmonary oedema, bronchial asthma, kidney/bladder failure so i know how careful i have to be. the last time i ignored common sense to keep an appointment i landed in critical care, so i know better than to risk crawling to AA tomorrow.

at the same time, i worry that i am letting everyone down!

i guess the silver lining is i'm currently too ill to drink anyways.

love & hugs to all

Hi, Im so sorry to hear your so sick. But you haven't let anybody down, you need to rest so you will feel better. Did you get a big book at you first meeting? If so when you feel better you could read some. But, you not letting anybody down.

You know what? We have had AA meetings at people's houses when they've been too ill to come to the meetings. Why not ask some of them to come to your house for a meeting? I'm sure they'd be glad to come and it would do you good!

people will understand; we AA's do tend to worry if we don't see a fellow member--but i'm sure your friends would want you to rest and get better also. hope you get better soon
