Hello Telb,

This forum isn't visited as much as the others and Sundays are sometimes slow. I hope you made it safely through the night.

Cheers,

January

ive been having a relly hard time sleeping without alchole the last couple of weeks. last night i found my mind is so tierd, i cant seem to stop thinking about stuff. i stoped myself many times to evaluate what i was thinking. and found alot of it stems from worries. but i dont feel i am worrying at that time. its just compulsive thoughts about nothing. its very strang,

My first week sober I couldn't sleep. Didn't know how to "go to sleep". Was so used to passing out from alcohol. It does pass....as our bodies adjust to not having it in our system it's like we remember how to fall asleep. The alchohol doesn't stop you from thinking...you just don't remember it. It doesn't cure the worries, the worries are still there when you sober up.

I've been sober 13 months. Congrats again on 11 days....you made it through the first week!!! The headaches will pass....try having plenty of caffeine and sugar around. As our body goes through the withdrawl from alcohol, our sugar gets very low. You now have full permission to eat as much candy as you want. As far as going away, get that "it's going to be a problem" thought out of your head now and start thinking positively. You have made it through 11 days and headaches and probably some trouble sleeping without a drink. You can make it through this trip also. Think of it as the first trip sober. You can do it, quit doubting yourself. Take plenty of candy. =) Do you want to have to do these 11 days over? No? So keep the momentum going and do it a day at a time. That's how you did the first 11. Put 11 days together one day at a time. Welcome to the forums and keep us posted!!!
