You can't do this alone. Find an AA group in your area and
go to as many meetings as you need to stay sober during
your detox. Not sleeping is natural when first sober but can
drive you nuts so don't try to do this alone! Eat, talk to someone and get your thoughts out of your head and don't hole up. You need other people right now. I know, I've been
through this twice. I was sober almost 7 years then went
back out. Now, I will have 3 months sober this Thursday.
So, I know what you're going through. If you can't get to a meeting, then journal your thoughts by posting on this web
site....someone will answer you. Remember to eat. Candy
bars might help your craving for alcohol since there is a great deal of sugar in alcohol. Hang in there. Life is much better sober!

I would suggest going to the hospital or a detox. If you have been drinking for a long time, a few years solid, you should go to the hospital. Withdraw from alcohol is very dangerous.

Here is a website that may have a chatroom. and other stuff that may be helpful for you.

Orion I'm here if you need to talk. Let me give you some info about me. Sober date Nov 09 1990. Yes it is hard But I can tell you it is worth it to , it was. I stopped in my fourtys Yea it is hard there are people out there get phone numbers and meetings to go to. As AA states It will work if you work it. And remimber there are no wimps in Aa or na.
