Hello, everyone. My ADHD brought me to this site. I've only been a member a few days, and already have more info available than my ADHD will EVER let me read! LOL I have a good friend who is alcoholic, KNOWS he's alcoholic, and even goes to weekly AA meetings. However, he is still consuming 6 - 8 oz or more of vodka every day. Because of what I've learned myself, and what I've observed, I'm convinced he has Alcohol Related Dementia - and its getting worse. As a friend, I want him to see a doctor ASAP, but I don't know which medical discipline is the most appropriate. I'm also aware that I can't MAKE him go, and am likely to be disappointed by his reaction, but I HAVE to try. Thanks so much for any insight into this situation.

Hi LooK4Answers, nice to meet you. I'm glad your friend is going to AA. I would start with a regular GP to start and then go from there regarding the Alcohol Related Dementia, or perhaps he might be willing to go to a treatment center. I feel for you, it is hard on the people going through this. Hope he gets better.
