My friend runs a meeting at a treatment center and asked me to speak last night. I've spoken there before, but it's been awhile since I told my story. It was great! I'm getting more and more comfortable talking about my past to strangers, and getting better at telling it. It actually lasted longer than 20 minutes and at the end they had a discussion, and so many of the kids were excited about young people's committee I made mention to. They thanked me for showing them that their fun is not over just because they're getting sober and I shared my battle to stay sober through the MS and they thanked me for showing them that it's possible to stay sober throught anything. It felt great to be of service. I've been in a deep depression and am starting to come out of it, and last night helped immensly!! 1 year, 2 months, 19 days today. It's been tough the last month and a half, not wanting to drink, but not being serene. On the road to getting that back. The MS makes me feel like a newcommer again. Anyway....just wanted to update ya'll breifly.

That's real cool, the best way you can help people is through sharing a true and inspiring story.

It’s funny, a person like yourself can have a bigger impact on another young person’s life than can some old fart with more time in the program than Methuselah.

It reminds me of the story of a newcomer, sitting in a meeting listening to sobriety dates. One guy had 7 years , another had 12, still another had 22 years without a drink. At last it came to a guy with 19 days without a drink, at that the newcomer sat straight up and said bull#$&%! Nobody can go that long without a drink! A true story.

Ray, I know you have more time than 19 days, 1 year, 2 months, more to be exact, but you are in a unique position to be of more service than the old timer that is so old in the program that he farts AA dust.

You are the fellowship that Bill W said we do not want to miss watching grow up around us. Thank you.
