Hi PC Pals,

Well here I am again. Depressed and dependent on the wine again. I was feeling really positive about my workout today. Starting to feel like there is a point to life. Then...on my way home, minding my own business there he is; my ex. The one who knows my deepest secrets and tore my heart in pieces. So to forget the pain and shock of seeing him, I drank.a lot. I hid in a corner and I don't think he saw me. I was doing good off of the alcohol. And now I just don't know if I'll ever be happy again because I relapsed. He seemed so carefree. And I'm hurting. I don't want to think about him ever again. How can someone be so bad for you? Can you really be addicted to a person?

I think we can sort of say there can be an addiction to a person. Now, honestly, what did you accomplish by drinking again? Did it really solve your problems? But, that said, just start your drink-free days over again with a new day one. It's not the end of the world that you drank--but don't do it again.

Are you seeing anyone to deal with getting over this relationship? It sounds like you could benefit from counseling.

Yes, people do use drugs such as alcohol as a pain reliever. I guess I tend to overeat when I am in emotional pain. I hope you will feel better soon!
