It is really hard to quit but it is really worth it. I quit 20 years ago and I had been a heavy smoker until then. I'm glad I quit. I felt better. And I watched my mother die of COPD caused by her smoking. It was heart wrenching. Stay strong. You can do it.

Best of luck and good for you!

If you find the app helpful please let us know what it is.

I would love to quit as well but like allme, I am concentrating on getting my mh issues under control first. I could not tolerate the stress of quitting and dealing with medication issues and symptoms that are not well controlled just yet.

Well I failed, I only lasted just over 6 hours. So will have another go. This is really hard, but the cost of cigarettes is costing me too much and then all the medication. Its stop or have no where to live.

The ap I download for Android was QuitNow it seems good. But now I have download Quit which sort of monitors everytime I light up. I think I will start with this one. As much as I am addicted, I think I light up to by time or to think or something.

Well in nearly 24 hours I have had only 6 so that is a vast improvement from 25 to 30. When you watch the Ap tick up the seconds and realize how much money you spend it sort of hits hard. But I have gotten to the stage where I need the money I smoke for my house or I will be out on the street as I can't seem to get a job even thought I am quite qualified in my field.

Oh well, will try again. Thanks for all your support, its really encouraging, its even helped to actual blurt something out on a page and not over think it. Thank you Thank YOU!! Glad I found this place

I don't know where to put this so i'll put it here. My son OD on my meds he got into, and was taken by ambulance to the hospital. i never felt such pain seeing him go to the hospital for an overdose. He will be there for awhile until he gets it all out of his system, and to stabelize him. Please pray for him, he's a good kid, just made a bad decision.

Kudos to you! I was a pretty heavy smoker at one time myself, and it's been about 18 years since I had my last one; and I'm very glad I did!

Just keep trying; the fact that you are even making an effort is something--and yes: 6 compared to 25 or 30 is a vast improvement--that is saying something. I know it's hard--but if I can do it, then anyone can!

I'm sorry you went thru that! I will pray for both of you.

Keep trying. I know you can do. Quitting is tough. I decided to do it recently and so know how tough it can be. But I have faith that anyone can do it and so I believe you can, too. I find keeping a journal helps me a bit. Though, I suppose I can see where the apps would, too. Good luck.
