I'm trying to find someone who has taken suboxone for a long period of time and stopped ? I had taken it for a lil over three years and decided I needed to stop it after my doc told me he didn't think I should stop , I think he was a little after my 300 dollar appointments, any way I stopped taken it I've been off of it for a little over a year and I feel ten times worse now then when I stopped it which took me nearly 5 months to feel ok , my problem is I'm wondering if any one has had the same issues I've had severe depression , I cry all the time for no reason , constant headaches , I have no patience with my kids anymore , I swear I'm seeing things that are not there, I scare easily, I have insomnia something awful, I forget things all the time , I litterly didn't sleep for almost 2 months , and on top of all this it severely affected my teeth badly , I've had a lot happen since I stopped and don't know if it's from stress or the suboxone , I'm scared to see a doc because of the ridicule that comes with all this , has anyone had any neurological problems I've had after stopping suboxone?? Any help is so very much appreciated ??

um i was on suboxone for about 3 years too, and although it took me about 3 weeks to feel normal, i didnt go through all that....i think you're suffering from what they call paws. or post acute withdrawal syndrome...which after using opiates for so long your brain is damaged and it has to heal...um you described the symptoms perfectly...you should probably see a psychiatrist and get on anti depressants and anxiety medication...for me zoloft helped a lot...um i dont believe hallucinating is part of the symptoms but i guess it could be...you should definitely get counseling and see a psychiatrist...im on methadone maintenance...suboxone didnt work for me, methadone is helping a lot, im just afraid to come off....well stay strong and please see a doctor and get on something like zoloft it helps so much

romo, i was on suboxone and you're having post acute withdrawal syndrome...its really common shows up a few months after stopping drugs, b/c your brain is so damaged..symptoms are insomnia, anxiety, depression, forgetfulness...amongst other things, you described it perfectly...zoloft really helped me you really should see someone for it...please...look it up...its common...im not quite sure about the hallucinations though...you might need to see somoene for that

It doesn't seem to me that this would be because of the suboxone since you have been off it for over a year. I would diffidently see a doctor if it was me. I wish the best for you, sorry I wasn't more helpful just want you to know someone cares.

I feel ya, I was on Subs for a couple years and tapered off way too fast. The anxiety was absolutely unbearable. I literally thought I was gonna die from an anxiety attack. Zoloft really helped me for a few months.
Positive thinking, healthy eating, exercise. It takes time for your body to get used to being clean and getting used to a whole new lifestyle.
