I cannot seem to get any studying done. It is the end of the first month of classes and I cannot get passed chapter 1 in any of my four classes. I definitely see a pattern which revolves around distracting myself with the internet. I never developed good studying habits even. I'm 23 and I need to overcome this lack of self-control. If I could get any advice I would greatly appreciate it.

Hi, Eloh, do you think you might be addicted to the Internet?
Maybe you can take your books with you to a place where you have less handy access to computers. Then make sure to do things that help keep your mind on your textbook, such as writing notes, quizzing yourself along the way, stopping when you encounter a new vocabulary word and thinking of a way you can remember it (such as associating it with something memorable to you), etc. Are there any study books that go along with the texts? Maybe you can even go to the school's study center, if it has one and ask a tutor to help you go throught the chapters. Hope these ideas might get you started, anyway..... ![]() |

no offense but the first thing suggest is that you are an "addict" to the "internet"?
To overcome this self control you need to assume responsibility for yourself and your behavior, not disempower yourself by conceptualizing you have some sort of severe internet addiction mental illness that is beyond your ability to control. Learn time management skills- research this, and if all else fails, well here is one for you- throw your computer and internet equipment in the bin. |
