Hi, my son is 15 and I found a bag of some unknown substance in his football bag. I will be speaking to my son about this but was wondering how I can get the substance tested just to know 100% what it is.

Discribe it
The colour, how fine the powder is (is it gritty, does it clump together like icing sugar), the quantity, the smell, the taste, is it crystal like meth or is it a salt, a plant, etc Or you can go to a doctor and show them and they could know what it is or refer you to a testing lab. |

if you describe it I bet I could tell ya what it is... needless to say I did a lot of experimenting when I was younger.

Use a regent test, you can buy them online.
Marquis reagent should give you an idea what it is. Or just describe it here and I could tell you. If you really want to know 100% send a sample to ecstasydata.org and they will lab test it for you. P.S. go easy on the poor lad. |

Since your son is 15, by you asking him what it is you found, I 100% guarantee he will deny it is anything illegal. I did illegal drugs when I was 16, hardest stuff I could buy, and I denied it, my parents believed me. I guarantee you that if you found it in a little bag, it is illegal. It is called a "dime bag" it is used for illegal substances. It could be anything. It could be weed, heroine, spice, ecstacy, meth.....there is a whole list out there. A pharmacy is useless now, as if it is illegal, they cannot help.
I disagree with the previous comment. I would not go easy on the "poor lad." I do not think this person had dealt with substance abuse before. I am not sure this person has traveled down that path. If you do not face this head on, you could be setting your son (and yourself) up for a long, difficult path to travel down. You need to come down hard on him, do not take this lightly. If it happened once, it can happen again. And trust me, if you let it, IT WILL. I have done it, trust me, I KNOW. |
