Did anyone have an experience like this? I was in 1rst grade and was proud of the coins I had saved in my piggy bank. I came home one day and everything was gone except for some nichols and penneys. I told my mom and she told me not to say anything or else. This is the first time I said anything. I still love my dad even though he suicide when I was 9. What do you think about that?

Hey there, Too Shy. Sorry that happened to you. I had a sister who used to steal stuff from me all the time. And I hate it when people call it 'sibling stuff' because it went far beyond that. I was harassed, bullied, threatened, violated, robbed, physically and verbally abused, for years. Regardless, I was distraught everytime something went missing and never knew if I'd see it again. Hopefully it was a one-time deal for you, and regardless, again, I'm sorry it happened. It's unfortunate when things like that happen at a young age at the hands of people we should be able to trust.

The coins my dad took were for alcohol. I remember I was so excited to add a few coins and then it was all gone. I would gladly give everything I own to have him back healthy and whole.

Addiction is tough. Sorry you lost your dad. I know you would love to have him back. I know his death must have been very hard on you at such a young age, though it is never easy no matter how old you are. Losing a parent hurts.

It's time to release the past. Forgive your dad for being sick. He was an addict most likely and was in so much pain he committed suicide. I know he wouldn't want you to suffer by hanging on to painful memories. For your own sanity you have to forgive him and make peace with this. |
