Well I want to post this so that I will have an idea what to say to him, and I really need some comments from you all. I will really appreciate your comments.
It started when we were college and he likes drinking very much. We drink some beers after graduation. Well I can say that it is one of our greatest days in our life. We have the same work but after a few months, he is fired for always being late and drunk. Than after a few days of him being fired, I asked him what happened to him. He said that he lost his appetite in working and he just want to drink every day. Well to make this short, I just only want to ask: I don’t know what to advise to him, even though I’m his friend. I don’t know a really good advice for him because of his stubbornness. Can you please help me by giving some advices?

well getting fired from a job for being drunk all the time is definitely a red flag for a drinking problem. you can express your concern for your friend that you are worried about him drinking too much that it is taking over his life. if you say he is stubborn, he is unlikely to listen to you but at least you have expressed your concern. the seed will be planted in his mind. offer to help him find a counselor, go to AA meetings with him, help him find a treatment center. let him know he is not alone in finding help. have these resources available before you talk to him so you can give them to him. good luck.

i agree with kaliope. you should mention to him, even though he is stubborn, that his drinking is taking over his life. plant the good seed and let him know there is help out there too. i wish i could stop you from going further in this relationship, if he won't go for help, as i've had several alcoholic boyfriends, what a waste of time!!! it sooner or later may escalate and become very bad before it gets better if it even does get better.
