In recovery, I get paranoid about accidentally relapsing.

For example...

A couple weeks ago I cleaned my keyboard with Isopropyl alcohol (the swabs). I'm still scared that by using my keyboard (weeks if not months later), that some of this isopropyl alcohol will somehow get absorbed into my system.

Then when I use soap or Skin lotion I freak out because it contains "Cetyl Alcohol" (which I have been told numerous times is not going to get you drunk).

Everytime I touch something I freak out

Neither of those will get you drunk because they're not that kind of alcohol. What will get you drunk is a drink. A drink of beer, wine, hard liquor...that stuff.

You will not get struck drunk from using ordinary body lotion or cleaning products. Actually, you will not get struck drunk at all. If you get drunk, it will be because you made a decision to drink. If you continue to decide NOT to drink, you will stay sober. While getting clean and sober can be hard in many ways, in some ways it is really as simple as just not drinking.

You can do this!

And just 'cause I'm paranoid doesn't mean they aren't really out to get me...
Thanks for this!
