I just found out that some one I know has been abusing neurontin. Is this becoming a common thing?

This person has had a really bad pill habit in the past. We are concerned about him. Anybody have experience with this?

I Just started taking a low dose of Neurontin (300mg) once nightly to help me sleep instead of using more benzodiazapine or something else narcotic.

From what I have read Neurontine is not regularily abused nor does it illicit the feelings most addicts are looking for in opiates, benzos, etc.

However, as a recovering person it is worrisome when anyone begins to abuse any medication. It's a definite red flag that something is going on. And none of us know what or how serious the ramifications will be from taking too much Neurontin. Please get help!

Thanks for this!
