I know it's not a substance, but I'm discovering that I am addicted to lying. Lying about stupid little things to avoid conflicts or consequences. Now it's seriously impacting my relationship and the rest of my life, and I need help. Does anyone know where to go for help with this kind of thing?

I am sure any therapist would be qualified to treat this. it would come down to seeking the reasons why you lie..probably cbt would work....take care.

I think your best resource is to see a T who will help you to stop. Like every addiction, it will be difficult to overcome but will be well worth the effort.

A one lie will always have the possibility to commit a next. That's where it all started. When you lie sometimes it's because your trying to save something but rather even if it save, whether you like it or not the time will come that truth will prevails. You thought you just ease the situation but not it became worse. The main lesson to this is be honest. Its hard to confess the truth but it will surely solve the problem faster. Additionally, your conscience is free.
