This is it, hopefully get the charges dropped. I've been shoplifting since I was a kid, not even entirely sure when it got out of hand. When the line disappeared that it was 'wrong'... Tho all my lines are a blur. It actually came as a blessing in disguise I suppose. Very fortunate where I live we have a program that works with first time offenders if they are approved into the program (I was rushed into the program) and you work with a lot of mental health professionals. They recognize most people who are I. Trouble with the law have a story line to go along with it. Mine was a long history of abuse that I didn't feel had any impact on any of my 'bad' decisions. I guess I am learning. I am just three sessions now into working with a trauma therapist. They had to make sure my addictions where at least on the mend (4 years clean of hard drugs, 48 days no alcohol, 54 days no shoplifting- SI and binge/purge still present but that's complaints for another forum!).
Anyways, don't know the point of all this. Just... Guess I'm glad to put this behind me, I am so early at court... |

I'm so glad that your state has a program to help you. So many of the things you mentioned should be address through mental health not jail. Congratulations on all your sobriety. And keep working on the rest. You can do it. I hope they drop the charges for you. Good luck.
