I just got home from my home group's celebration of one our member's 50 year medallion. Talk about inspiring - this lady is amazing and going strong and helping so many people in acheiving their sobriety. We had about 80 people come out from a whole bunch of different groups so our very small church basement felt crowded but with really good energy.

It was also really nice for me to see just how many people I already know from other groups who came out.

All in all a very motivational evening.

That is a great thing! Tell me, did she share if she still craves this, or has it diminished over time?

She has said many times that she hung on by her fingernails until the obsession to drink was lifted from her.

PS - My sponsor told me from the beginning that when I'm getting a chip, to pick one up at every meeting for a week, to show the newcomer it works, and also because I'll want to give those chips to friends and sponsee in the future. Last night I got to give one of my best friends one of my 6 month chips. It was pretty cool. =) I wish I had virtual chips for you splitimage!!! =)

Thanks Rayna -

Today is day 47, which is a record for me. I'm still finding it rather hard but don't ever want to be back in the places that drinking took me to.

I'm still in an out-patient treatment program which is helping me enormously along with almost daily AA meetings (I sometimes get wimpy about waiting for buses when the temperature drops below -10)

Oh and I'm a definite believer in picking up multiple chips.

Sweet! Here, they only do chips for 30, 60, 90 days, then 6 months, 9 months, 1 year, and then multiple years. But there's a shop that sells the chips that we don't hand out, so I get to give a friend of mine an 8 month chip today. I love the chips; they're so much fun!
