I smoke weed. I admit it and I’m not ashamed. I started not to long ago, about year ago. I can’t really remember the first time I smoked, but it was in my closet with my brother and we used a ghetto pipe. He is the main reason I started smoking. I’m not saying that it is a bad thing because it has helped me some. It makes me happy and helps me forget most of my troubles. Mostly I use because I have depression and I haven’t gotten the proper help for it. I want to get help, but I haven’t talked to my doctor or anyone else really about it. Im also going a month without smoking to see if my life is better or worse.

Hi aphophis21
Thank you for being honest with us. I'm glad to hear that you want to get help. That's a great start. You haven't talked to your doctor yet, but this is certainly a possibility that you can do in the very near future. I am sure that you will be steered in the right direction in order to help you with your symptoms of depression. Feel free to post about your thoughts and feelings in the Depression Forum at Psychcentral too. Look after yourself. |

That is one of my main reasons for my cannabis use, that and helps mellow PTSD and anxiety symptoms.

I smoke spot a long time ago, it did mellow me but the damage the smoke does to lung isn't worth it. I'm waiting for the drug to be synthesized into a pain killer. But when will the government allow that? It will be awhile.

I have experimented with pot for depression and anxiety while on meds. It didn't effect the meds or the pot as far as I could tell. For me it doesn't help with my depression. For Hellion it does. Personally I don't see anything wrong with it if it helps. I know it would help me with anxiety but I have chose not to go down that road......at least not yet. It would take some trial and error in finding the exact right strain. There are big differences.
I would encourage you to get help but that doesn't mean you have to go on meds. Don't let anyone tell you that you have to. That is totally your decision. There are other methods for dealing with depression. It is all about finding what works or doesn't work for you.
