I take klonopin for anxiety an dhave been taking for about a year. I read something about Madonna being on klonopin for a few years and she tried quitting and she said it was harder to quit then cocaine. Im scared because eventually I would like to stop taking klonopin.

I have been taking 1 mg klonopin a day for a year and this week I missed three days worth because I was out of town and ran out. Much to my surprise I didn't have any withdrawal symptoms.

My brother who is a pharmacist said to reduce by 20% every two weeks to come off totally. I think I am just gonna go to .5 mg daily for now since I didn't have trouble missing three days.

My addictions Dr. weans lots of people off klonopin, by switching them to valium and then tapering the valium off over a period of months. Too fast a taper can be horrific.

I have been on klonapin for almost five years. I am doing an ultra slow taper for safety. Pdoc is unknowlegeable about safe withdrawal. I finally gave up on getting her advice and am in control of how I do it.

My withdrawals from almost any pmed is terrible, same with klonopin. BUT, years ago I was coming off of Zoloft, and my saving grace was surprisingly Claritin. I started taking it for allergies obviously but something about these types of medicines can reduce withdrawal symptoms. Benadryl worked as well, but it makes me so sleepy.

Cocaine is rather a predominant psychological addiction it's a mental battle rather Klonopolin is slightly different. I say this from experience.
