I just got out of rehab in October 11, I used the day I got home. This was one of the best rehabs out there and I went to every class . I tried to get everything out of it, but I don't know what happened. I just don't know what to do.

Do they offer sober living, continuing care, or 3/4 houses?

Move to a new area?

Yes they did, but I thought I should come back home. I wish I would've stayed there. I live in Oklahoma and the rehab was in Florida... I'm thinking about calling them and seeing if I can still get into one of the houses.

How are you doing? How long were you in rehab? Did they tell you that you have to live and breath recovery from here on? Meetings meetings meetings.

I stayed 42 days and while I was in there I just never felt complete. I put myself in because I knew I had a problem, but I used the day I got home. I went to meetings for about 2 weeks and then stopped. I honestly feel like I should have stayed longer

Awww, I'm sorry. Is your MI being treated? We are pretty big on self medicating, trying to fill that hole in our soul.

Can you call the rehab and ask them if you can be considered or reconsidered for sober living? Or, is there a sober living in your area? It sounds like your home is a trigger at this point and you may need to plan your eventual return more carefully next time.

I am on cymbalta, but it doesn't seem to help and I just contacted the sober living house in Florida. I'm just waiting for a response. I agree my home is a trigger...I felt like I was supposed to come home after treatment because I had a home to come too. I know no that was a mistake.

I went to rehab five times over the last ten years. Very good rehabs too, and I continued to use afterward. I guess I wasn't ready to quit back then. You have to want it more than anything, more than getting high and you have to be seriously committed to recovery.

You also have to plan your return home with the help of the rehab staff. It's important to have an honest self assessment of the home environment, but at the same time, an objective opinion is just as important.

The only way I got sober was when I knew it had me not the other way around. I had to be at my lowest with no hope for recovery. Not everyone has to be like I was. But one does need to become completely honest with themselves. Meaning one is an alcoholic and can't control it. It controls us. If you're sick and tired of being sick and tired you're ready. It's the first drink that gets us drunk. Not the 1000th. Find a support system like AA, go everyday, listen, don't drink, call someone if you're thinking about drinking, or go to another meeting and talk about wanting to drink.and lastly DONT DRINK.
