Not sure of the spelling but sounds like this.

My sons therapist wants him to take these as needed along with his zoloft.
Has anyone done this? What are the side effects that you have felt? Did this help.

I read they make you really sleepy.

I take Vistaril as needed for anxiety. I take other MI meds but don't have any bad reactions by taking them together. It helps me to calm down a bit so I can get the anxiety under control. It doesn't make me sleepy but I may be on a small dosage compared to him.

Vistaril was what they always put in with the pain medication I would get in the ER for my migraines.....they said it helped make the pain medication more effective & something about helping with any possible nausea....but that's the only time I've ever had it was in with other pain meds in a shot.

I take this for anxiety. It has helped and I have no side effects. I would go with it and give it a try.

It's kinda like benadryl, i think it shares one of the ingredients or whatever. It's usually used as an as needed medication, seeing as if one were to take it daily they build a tolerance too it like any other benzo. It didn't help me really, i guess it's just extremely weak compared to my other meds

I take it as well, 12 mg a day if needed. its good and lasts a long time, loses efectiveness about after 2 months so don't abuse it.
