My t gave me an affirmation that says " I lean into recovery not my emotions. " Not sure how this will help but okay I'll trust her. So how can I make this work for me?

they probably mean to not give into your emotions and lean or grasp into getting recovered instead. like leaning on a wall, something to hold you up while trying to recover completely, you'd have to do it slowly and use your strengths instead of the weakness of bad emotions.

Maybe it means to focus more on recovery and not letting your emotions get in the way. You're going to feel a lot of emotions in the recovery process and you're going to learn a lot about yourself. Let it happen but don't let it set you back. It's so easy to be crying one minute and say "f&c& it, I need a drink". But you have to know better and want better. Good luck and stay strong!
