Well, i made it through the night. My brother and his fiance's engagment party. Her family has a condo hear in the quarter so they did the party in the courtyard. My anxiety was sky high before even getting there, so i drank a beer on the way. Don't remember exactly what i had there, but I'm not trashed enough to not type. I'm feeling guilty feelings for drinking , but i know if i didnt i never woulda made it through the party. I been doing pretty good with not drinking. I dont know, my anxiety and everyone else's just seemed to get to me a little too much tonite. I screwed it up again.

(((((((((((((((chalm))))))))))))))))

On your path to sobriety, there will be bumps along the way. Sometimes it will seem like one step forward, two steps backwards now and again. Please don't kick yourself when you are down.

I hope that next time you are in a position like this you will give yourself the opportunity to go through the situation without leaning on the alcohol and finding that you really CAN make it through. Nothing ventured, nothing gained Again..

You're in my prayers dear ((((((((((((((((((chalm))))))))))))))))))) and I hope you find strength and peace Again..

Hugsssssss

I had many stops and starts before I was able to get in a length of sobriety…hang in there.

Chalm, there are so so so many people out there who have gotten sober through adversity and stayed sober through adversity. Its possible to stay sober through anything.....one of my favorite quotes from the book that helped me get sober is this: "burn the idea into the consciousness of every man that he can get well regardless of anyone." I like to add "or anything".

You don't have to keep trying this alone. There's no way I could have done it alone. Or keep doing it if I didn't have sober friends. There are so many avenues for finding a fellowship of other sober people, not just AA.

You can do it.....the other sober people on this board are proof.
